Internationally, the Section competes in world renowned Club Tournaments such as the Manila 10s and International World 10s (Vets). The biggest event in the SCC Rugby (and the entire Club) calendar is the SCC International Rugby 7s (renamed the Societe Generale SCC International Rugby 7s since 2014), where 7-a-side Rugby Teams compete for the coveted Ablitt Cup for as far back as the 1940s.

SCC Rugby Academy

The Societe Generale SCC Rugby Academy was founded in January 2012 by four Singapore Cricket Club players keen to offer the best possible playing and development experience for children from the age of four. The SCC is one of Asia's oldest sporting and recreational Clubs having been founded in 1852. 'The establishment of the SCC Rugby Academy marks a significant development for the Club and for children's rugby in Singapore.

The SCC Rugby Academy is open to Members of the Singapore Cricket Club and to non-Members and is intended to provide a real "Club" opportunity for players who can, if they choose, have a life-long playing affiliation with the SCC and Rugby. With the SCC regularly fielding 5 adult teams and providing more than half of the Singapore National Squad, the Academy provides tomorrows stars with the opportunity to develop in a real team environment akin to the best clubs in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.

Training is on Saturday mornings at the Dempsey fields and there are regular opportunities to play and train on the Padang in the city centre – one of the most spectacular venues in Rugby.
